  • 2 cups jasmin rice

  • 2.5 cups chicken broth or water

  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

  • 1 onion (chopped)

  • 2 cloves of garlic (grated)

  • 1 carrot (grated)

  • 1 cup of peas

  • 2 tbsp soya sauce

  • Salt, black pepper (you can adjust according to your taste)

  • 2 green onions (chopped, for decoration)


  • Wash the rice thoroughly and set aside.
  • Heat the oil in a pan, add the chopped onion and fry until it turns pink.
  • Add the grated garlic and stir until it starts to smell.
  • Add the carrots and peas and fry until the vegetables soften.
  • Add the washed rice and stir-fry over low heat until the rice turns transparent.
  • Add chicken broth or water and bring to a boil. After boiling, reduce the heat and add salt and black pepper.
  • Cover the lid of the pot and cook until the rice absorbs the water.
