  • 2 cups of rice

  • 4 cups chicken broth (or water)

  • 1/2 cup of corn

  • 1/2 cup peas

  • 1 carrot, grated

  • 1 onion, chopped

  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil

  • 2 cloves of garlic, crushed

  • 2 tbsp soy sauce

  • 2 eggs (optional)

  • Salt and pepper, to your taste


  • Wash and drain the rice well.
  • Heat the oil in a large pan. Add the chopped onion and fry until it turns pink.
  • Add the grated carrot and garlic, fry until the carrots soften.
  • Add the washed rice to the pan and fry over low heat until the rice turns transparent.
  • Add the corn, peas and chicken stock (or water) to the rice. Stir the mixture and bring it to a boil.
  • After boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the pilaf and cook until the water is absorbed.
  • Switch off the heat after the rice has absorbed the water. Add the soya sauce and mix.
  • Beat the eggs in a separate pan and add them to the mixture and mix (optional).
  • Adjust the salt and pepper according to your taste. Stir the rice and place it on the serving plate.
  • You can optionally add fresh chopped greens on top and serve hot.
