Prep time

Cooking time

  • Half a kilogram of chicken breast, boiled and shredded

  • 2 tbsp butter or oil

  • 1 onion, chopped

  • 2 cloves of garlic, crushed

  • 1 cup of yoghurt

  • Half a glass of oil

  • 3 eggs (the yolk of one of them will be reserved for the top)

  • Half a glass of milk

  • 1 packet of baking powder

  • 1 tsp vinegar

  • Salt, black pepper, chilli flakes (optional)

  • Half a bunch of fresh parsley, chopped

  • Half a kg of phyllo dough

  • Boil the chicken breast and shred it. Melt the butter or oil in a pan. Add the chopped onions and fry until they turn pink. Add the garlic and stir until it starts to smell.
  • Add boiled chicken and mix. Add salt, black pepper and optional chilli flakes. Cook over low heat until the chicken absorbs the water. After it cools down, add chopped parsley on it.
  • Whisk yoghurt, oil, egg, milk, milk, vinegar and baking powder in a bowl. Gradually add the chicken mixture and mix.
  • Roll out the phyllo pastry and spread the chicken mixture on each one and place them on top of each other. Place these phyllo layers on a square or rectangular tray. Spread the reserved egg yolk on the top layer.
  • Bake in a preheated 180 degree oven until golden brown.
  • Slice the hot pastry out of the oven and serve hot.

  • Tips for Cream of Chicken Soup:
  • Chicken Boiling Time: It is important to boil the chicken breast completely. Well-boiled chicken increases the flavour of the soup. You can complete the boiling process by checking that the inside of the chicken turns white and the water is clean.
  • Soup Consistency: Be careful to adjust the consistency of the cream soup. Use chicken broth and cream in a balanced way so that the soup is not too thick. If necessary, you can bring it to the desired consistency by adding water or milk.
  • Spices: You can use salt, black pepper and optional chilli flakes to add flavour to the chicken soup. When adding spices, remember to adjust them according to your taste.
  • Tips for Chicken Dumpling:
  • Phyllo Quality: Pay attention to the quality of the phyllo you will use while preparing your chicken pastry. Quality phyllo dough makes the pastry more delicious and easier to open.
  • Applying Oil Between the Phyllo: Applying a small amount of oil between each phyllo layer makes the pastry more delicious and crispy. However, be careful not to use too much oil.
  • Resting Time for the Pastry: Before putting the chicken pastry in the oven, let it rest for a while so that the filling you spread between the layers spreads well on the phyllo pastry. Thus, the filling will be absorbed sufficiently and the pastry will be more delicious.
  • Oven Temperature: Preheat the oven and bake the pastry at medium temperature. Baking at high temperatures may brown the top of the pastry very quickly and may not cook the filling completely.
  • By following these tips, your chicken pot pie with cream of chicken soup will be both eye-catching and delicious. Bon appetit!
