Ingredients

  • 2 cups long grain rice

  • 250 grams of crab meat (cleaned)

  • 1 onion (grated)

  • 2 tbsp butter

  • 4 cups of chicken broth

  • Salt and black pepper (according to your taste)

  • 1/2 cup of thin bulgur (optional)

  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)

Directions

  • Wash and drain the rice well.
  • Melt the butter in a large pot, add the grated onion and sauté until the onion turns pink.
  • Add the crab meat, stir gently and sauté over low heat for a few minutes.
  • Add the washed rice and sauté over low heat until the rice turns transparent.
  • Add the chicken broth, add salt and black pepper. After boiling, reduce the heat and cook the pilaf until the water is absorbed.
  • Sprinkle the fine bulgur over the pilaf, mix and cover the lid of the pot. Let it brew over low heat until the bulgur swells.
  • After the bulgur swells, stir the pilaf, remove from the stove and serve garnished with parsley.

Notes

  • Prefer fresh crab meat if possible. Fresh crab meat will add a more intense and delicious flavour to your pilaf. Carry out the cleaning process carefully.
  • Wash the rice thoroughly to remove excess starch. In this way, your pilaf will be grainy.
  • Add a deep flavour to your pilaf by roasting the grated onion well in butter. It is important to roast over low heat until the onions turn pink.
  • Sauté the rice with the onions to give the rice a flavourful texture. This step makes the pilaf more flavourful.
  • Add a deep flavour to your pilaf by using chicken broth. Add the chicken broth hot and let the pilaf boil immediately.
  • Bulgur can add a different texture and flavour to your pilaf. Sprinkle the bulgur over the pilaf and leave it to brew after mixing.
  • After the bulgur swells, stir the pilaf and close the lid of the pot. Stick to the steeping time; this allows all the ingredients to mix well and the flavours to mingle.
  • Colour your pilaf with chopped fresh parsley before serving. Parsley will both add a visual elegance and enrich the flavour even more.
  • By paying attention to these tricks, you can prepare the Crab Boiled Rice Recipe in a more delicious and successful way. Bon Appetit!
