Prep time

Cooking time

  • 500 grams of flat iron steak

  • 1 cup vinegar water (apple cider vinegar is preferable)

  • Half a glass of olive oil

  • 3 cloves of garlic (crushed)

  • 1 tsp salt

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • 1 tsp red chili pepper (optional)

  • Half a bunch of fresh coriander or parsley (optional)

  • Clean the flat iron steaks and sprinkle lightly with salt.
  • Add the vinegar water and olive oil to a large bowl. Add the crushed garlic cloves, salt, pepper and optional red pepper flakes. Mix the ingredients well.
  • Add the steaks to this marinade mixture and marinate in the sauce, coating well on all sides. Do this carefully without damaging the steaks.
  • After the marinating process is complete, cover the container with cling film and let it rest in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
  • Cook the rested steaks on the grill or in a skillet until they reach the desired degree of doneness. It is usually sufficient to cook over medium heat for about 3-4 minutes on each side.
  • Let the steaks rest for a few minutes after cooking is complete.
  • Sprinkle with fresh cilantro or parsley before serving and serve hot or cold.

  • Quality ingredients are one of the most important factors that determine the flavor of the recipe. The choice of flat iron steak is critical for the softness and flavor of the meat. Also, the vinegar water and olive oil you use should be of high quality and natural.
  • Marinating your steaks allows the meat to fully meet the spices and vinegar water. Extending the marinating time overnight, if possible, contributes to making the meat more flavorful and tender.
  • Whisking the marinade mixture well ensures that all ingredients penetrate the meat evenly. Be careful when turning the steaks or adding the marinade liquid, make sure that all sides are evenly marinated.
  • When cooking steaks, use a medium heat and cook the steak for an even amount of time on each side. Cooking over high heat can cause the outside of the steak to burn and the inside to dry out.
  • After cooking the steaks, allow them to rest for a few minutes. This helps the meat to retain its juices and make it more flavorful. The resting time also helps to distribute the juices evenly before cutting the steak.
  • With these tricks, you can prepare your Flat Iron Steak Marinade recipe more deliciously and successfully. Happy cooking and bon appetit!
