Ingredients

  • 500 g ground beef

  • 1 onion (grated)

  • 2 cloves of garlic (crushed)

  • ½ cup breadcrumbs

  • 1 egg

  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 tsp salt

  • ½ tsp black pepper

  • ½ tsp red chilli powder (optional)

  • 4 burger buns

  • Lettuce, tomato slices, pickles (for serving)

Directions

  • Mix the ground beef, grated onion, crushed garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper and optional chilli powder in a large bowl.
  • Knead the mixture and shape the burger patties. Optionally, you can let the burger patties rest for a while in the refrigerator to allow the flavours to blend better.
  • Heat the grill pan or barbecue. Cook the patties until well browned on both sides. The cooking time usually varies between 10-12 minutes.
  • Lightly heat the burger buns on the grill or in the toaster.
  • Before serving, place lettuce on the bottom of the burger bun, top with the beef patties, tomato slices and pickles.
