  • For Cake

  • 2.5 cups flour

  • 1.5 tsp baking powder

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1 cup salted butter (at room temperature)

  • 2 cups brown sugar

  • 4 large eggs (at room temperature)

  • 1 tsp vanillin extract

  • 1 glass of milk

  • For Salted Caramel Sauce:

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 1/2 cup salted butter

  • 1/2 cup cream

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 2 tbsp Kentucky bourbon whiskey (optional)


  • Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Grease and flour a round cake tin.
  • Mix the flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl.
  • In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter and brown sugar well. Add the eggs and continue to beat the mixture until creamy.
  • Add the vanillin extract and mix.
  • Add the flour mixture and milk to the mixture in turn. Mix well each time you add.
  • Pour the prepared dough into the greased and floured mould. You can use a spatula to level it.
  • Place the cake mould in the preheated oven and bake the cake for about 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  • While the cake is baking, prepare the salted caramel sauce by melting the granulated sugar in a pan over low heat, stirring constantly, until it turns caramel colour.
  • Add butter, cream and salt. Stir until the mixture turns into a thick and smooth caramel sauce. Optionally add bourbon.
  • Remove the cake from the oven and pour the hot salted caramel sauce over it. After cooling, slice and serve.
