Prep time

Cooking time

  • 1 cup flour

  • 2 tablespoons sugar

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1 glass of milk

  • 2 large eggs

  • 2 tablespoons butter (melted)

  • Half a teaspoon of vanillin extract (optional)

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar and salt.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs and optional vanillin extract.
  • Add the liquid mixture to the flour mixture and mix until you get a smooth consistency.
  • Add the melted butter and mix again. Let your dough rest for a few minutes.
  • Make pancakes in a heated frying pan or crepe pan using butter. Take a scoop of the batter and pour it into the pan. Cook until both sides are nicely browned.
  • Serve the cooked pancakes warm and garnish with the toppings of your choice, for example with honey, fruit or yoghurt.

  • Ingredients should be at room temperature: Having ingredients such as eggs and milk at room temperature helps you achieve a more homogeneous mixture. Cold ingredients can make it difficult for your dough to mix properly.
  • Whisking to Make the Dough Smooth: Whisk the ingredients well to ensure that the dough does not contain lumps. You can prevent lumps by adding flour little by little and whisking continuously.
  • Resting the Dough: Resting your batter for a few minutes will help the flour absorb the liquid and improve the consistency. Resting also makes the pancake softer.
  • Heating the Pan: Make sure the pan is well heated. Pouring the batter when the pan is hot ensures that the pancake is cooked evenly.
  • Pouring Thin and Evenly: Use the same amount of batter for each pancake so that your pancakes are the same thickness. Pouring thinly helps the pancakes cook quickly and evenly.
  • Adjusting the Butter Well: Lightly greasing the crepe pan with butter prevents the crepes from sticking and contributes to a beautiful colour.
  • Cooking Time: Pancakes that are nicely browned on both sides indicate that the inside is also cooked. Overcooking may cause the pancakes to dry out.
  • Serve Hot: Serve the crepes hot immediately. Serving hot preserves the softness of the pancakes and allows the ingredients you add on top to melt better.
  • By paying attention to these tips, you can have a perfect crepe experience. Happy cooking!
