Ingredients

  • For Dough

  • 1.5 cups flour

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (cold, cubed)

  • 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar

  • 3-4 tablespoons of cold water

  • For the filling:

  • 1 water glass granulated sugar

  • 1/2 cup corn syrup

  • 3 tablespoons butter (melted and cooled)

  • 3 large size eggs

  • 1/4 cup flour

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 1.5 cups coarsely chopped walnuts

  • For Cream

  • 2 cups of milk

  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar

  • 1/3 cup flour

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

  • 3 egg yolks

  • 2 tablespoons of butter

  • 1.5 teaspoon vanillin extract

Directions

  • Dough:
  • Mix the flour, cold butter and granulated sugar in a mixing bowl.
  • Add cold water to the mixture and knead the dough, wrap in cling film and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  • Roll out the rested dough on a floured surface and place it into the tart tin. Cut the excess edges and poke holes on the dough with a fork in many places.
  • Pre-bake in a preheated 180 degree oven for 10-12 minutes.
  • Filling:
  • Put granulated sugar, corn syrup, melted butter, eggs, flour and salt in a bowl and mix.
  • Pour the mixture into the tart base and top with coarsely chopped walnut kernels.
  • Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes.
  • Cream:
  • Put the milk, granulated sugar, flour and salt in a saucepan and mix.
  • Add the egg yolks and whisk well.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil over low heat, stirring constantly.
  • After boiling, add the butter and vanillin extract and stir.
  • Cook until it thickens and remove from the stove.
  • Pour the warmed cream evenly over the tart you took out of the oven.
  • Let the Pecan Cream Pie rest in the refrigerator for at least 3 hours after it cools completely.
  • Serve:
  • Serve by slicing.
