  • 10-12 potatoes, peeled and coarsely chopped

  • 1 large onion, finely chopped

  • Half a glass of milk

  • 300g cream cheese

  • 3 tablespoons of butter

  • 1 can of cream of mushroom soup

  • 1 can celery soup

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • Salt and black pepper (according to your taste)

  • Grated cheddar cheese and freshly chopped spring onions for garnish


  • Melt the butter in a large soup pot. Add finely chopped onion and sauté until transparent.
  • Add the peeled and coarsely chopped potatoes. Add enough water to slightly cover the potatoes and cook over medium heat until soft.
  • After the potatoes and onion are cooked well, remove the pot from the stove and mash the mixture. Then add the milk and cream cheese, stir the mixture until it reaches a homogenous consistency.
  • Return the pot to the heat and add the cream of mushroom soup and celery soup. Stir the mixture and heat through.
  • Add the garlic powder, salt and pepper. Season to taste.
