Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour

  • 1 water glass grated kashar cheese

  • 1/2 water glass of oil

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/4 cup finely chopped green onion

  • 1/4 cup chopped jalapeno pepper (optional)

  • 8 sausages (optionally grated or chopped)

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Use a baking tray lined with greaseproof paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, grated cheddar cheese, oil, baking powder and salt. Add the finely chopped green onion and jalapeno pepper. Mix the ingredients to obtain a homogeneous dough.
  • Optionally, add the grated or chopped sausages and knead the dough.
  • Pick walnut sized pieces from the dough and roll them into balls. Place the balls intermittently on the tray lined with greaseproof paper.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes or until the surface of the balls is lightly browned.
  • Let the sausage balls rest for a few minutes and serve hot.

  • To check the consistency of your dough, add the flour a little at a time and adjust as necessary. Make sure that the dough is not too hard or too soft.
