Ingredients

  • 1 cup sourdough

  • 1 cup sugar

  • 1 cup of oil

  • 3 eggs

  • 1 teaspoon vanillin

  • 1 cup of yoghurt

  • 2 cups flour

  • 1 packet of baking powder

  • Half a tea glass of fresh lemon juice

  • Lemon zest

  • 1 pinch of salt

  • For the filling:

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

  • 2 tablespoons cinnamon

  • Half a glass of crushed walnuts

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C (160°C fan) and grease the cake tin.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the sourdough, sugar, oil, eggs, vanillin and yoghurt.
  • Add flour, baking powder, salt, fresh lemon juice and lemon zest and mix.
  • Pour half of the mixture into the cake mould.
  • Mix granulated sugar, cinnamon and crushed walnuts for the filling and sprinkle over the dough.
  • Pour the remaining batter over it.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes. Check whether the cake is cooked with a toothpick test.
  • Leave the cake out of the oven to warm. Slice and serve.
