Cooking time

  • 1 cup butter (at room temperature)

  • 1/2 water glass granulated sugar

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 teaspoon vanillin extract

  • 1 cup hazelnut paste

  • 2.5 cups flour

  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda

  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt

  • 1 cup chocolate chips or chopped chocolate

  • 1/2 water glass pounded hazelnut

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C (160°C in a fan oven) and line a baking tray with greaseproof paper.
  • In a mixing bowl, beat the room temperature butter with the granulated sugar and brown sugar until creamy.
  • Add the eggs one by one and mix well.
  • Add the vanillin extract and hazelnut paste and mix until homogenised.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the flour, baking soda and sea salt. Slowly add this mixture to the butter mixture and knead the mixture into a dough.
  • Add the chocolate chips or chopped chocolate and crushed hazelnut kernels and mix well.
  • Pick walnut sized pieces from the dough, roll them and place them on the tray with greaseproof paper.
  • Shape each cookie dough by pressing lightly on it.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges of the cookies turn golden.
  • Leave the hot cookies to cool on the tray for a few minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

  • Make sure the butter is at room temperature: Having your butter at room temperature makes it easier to mix and improves the consistency of your dough.
  • Mix the Nut Butter Well: Hazelnut paste is an important ingredient that determines the flavor of your dough. Mix well to get a homogeneous consistency.
  • Add Sea Salt Carefully: While sea salt adds a special flavor to your cookies, avoid overusing it. Add it sparingly and control the flavor and increase if necessary.
  • Make sure the chocolate and hazelnuts are well distributed: When adding chocolate chips and crushed hazelnuts to the dough, take care to ensure a homogeneous distribution. Thus, you will get an equal flavor in every bite.
  • Chill the Dough: Let the dough rest in the refrigerator for a while to allow the butter to harden. This will help your cookies take shape better.
  • Make Equal-Sized Cookies: Adjusting the size of the pieces you take from the dough ensures that your cookies bake in the same amount of time.
  • Check the Cooking Time: Check your cookies constantly while baking. When they turn golden, remove them from the oven immediately. Overcooking can cause the cookies to dry out.
  • Let Cool on a Hot Tray: Once the cookies are out of the oven, let them cool on the hot tray for a few minutes. This helps the cookies to keep their shape.
  • By following these tricks, you can ensure that your peanut butter and sea salt cookies have a perfect flavor. Bon appetit!
