Ingredients

  • 500 grams venison (minced or chopped)

  • 1 water glass of raw almonds

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1 teaspoon thyme

  • 1 teaspoon chilli flakes (optional)

Directions

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  • Finely grind the raw almonds in a food processor or with a knife.
  • Put the venison and ground almonds in a mixing bowl.
  • Add the olive oil, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano and optional chilli flakes. Mix the ingredients well.
  • Put the mixture on a baking tray or griddle lined with greaseproof paper.
  • Flatten the mixture in the tray and press it down with a spatula or spoon to compact it.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the meat reaches internal temperature.
  • Remove the cooked mixture from the oven and let it rest on the tray for a while. Then slice to make snack sticks.
